Welcome to blog.the3rdrock.com — a virtual home for, amongst other things, my thoughts on and about anything that happens to catch my fancy.
On any given day you can expect to find content from subjects as varied as politics, technology, motoring, and boobs — because let’s face it, a decent set of mammaries make for good viewing at any time of the day or night. 
Usually insensitive, generally politically incorrect, inexplicably random and totally honest.
I’m based in South Africa (*sigh*), so you can expect some local (to me) content too.
I’ll do my utmost to keep the heavy political and grey matter-sapping stuff to a tolerable level.

PS: I’m planning on doing the 2011 Mongol Rally touring the world…sooner rather than later! You can follow the team effort here. Currently on hold — due to a grand act of cowardice by a former ‘friend’ — until my Nigerian cousin sends me the millions of Dollars currently held up in his banker’s vault due to a death in presidency…or something like that.

Hi Nic, sorry I could not find another way to contact you. The article by Stephen Goodson on the so-called SA Navy refers. Is there an analysis that responds to it, point by point, ALL of the points he made, so we can see exactly what is accurate and true, and what is not? Regards, Willem.

Thanks for the feedback. The staying power of that article is truly remarkable.
I did not write a follow-up article nor have I have come across any other updates in my ‘net trawls.
That said, did you read the commentary below the article? There were quite a few respondents with applicable backgrounds that gave their insight on the matter. If I recall correctly, one of the commenter’s actually met with Mr. Goodson in order to clear up some misnomers.
Lastly, I have added a link to my email address on the About Page too. Thanks for pointing out that oversight.
